Today we are proud to announce that Alaska Air has joined 90 airlines that offer discounted pricing and terms on studentuniverse.com. Alaska Air’s discounts will be available to verified students of any age, as well as faculty. The discounts also apply to codeshare flights operated by Virgin America.
Students will see discounts available on routes to/from the US and Canada, as well as Hawaii, Mexico and Costa Rica. The most popular routes we see students booking are New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco, Los Angeles to Seattle and San Francisco, Boston to Los Angeles, Washington to Los Angeles and San Francisco to Seattle.
In addition to the discounted fares, any traveler can also buy Alaska Air’s published fares on studentuniverse.com.
Alaska Air is based in Seattle and operates secondary hubs in Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, Anchorage, and focus cities at San Diego and San Jose. Alaska Airlines is not a member of any of the three major airline alliances, but alongside it’s sister airlines Horizon Air and Virgin America, it makes up the Alaska Air Group. Alaska Air has been ranked by J. D. Power and Associates as having the highest customer satisfaction of the traditional airlines for ten consecutive years.
This year, Alaska Air will be adding 13 new nonstop routes from San Francisco International Airport and Mineta San Jose International Airport. This is the largest announcement of new markets in the airline’s history. Routes include: San Jose-Newark, San Jose-Burbank, San Francisco-Orlando, San Francisco-Orange County and San Francisco-Minneapolis. Just last week, new routes were also launched from San Francisco-Mexico City and Los Angeles-Mexico City as well.
