StudentUniverse is a supporter of Japan as a premier travel destination for youth. Using various channels including email, social, a customized Japan Tourism landing page, targeted banner ads, special promo codes and more, StudentUniverse was able to increase total searches by over 125% and total sales from the US to Japan by 85% compared to 2012. The dedicated email alone, offering a $50 promo code and links to specially written articles promoting specific destinations within Japan, proved successful with an astonishing open rate of 20.90%.
