You mean, I get to break things? We are seeking a dynamic and mature individual to join our team in the role of Junior QA Engineer. Quality Assurance Engineers have the great task of making sure things are and are not working correctly to ensure the end user has a better experience on our site. QA Engineers need good problem solving skills, be very creative, and have determination to maintain the integrity of this code and to help developers recognize issues before it is released.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of major software releases and patch builds through manual and automated testing
• Assist in the creation, execution and maintenance of test cases
• Learn products, processes, technology, and apply that knowledge in a productive manner to ensure quality testing of new software releases and support in diagnostics of site issues
• Participate in all phases of the software development process, from design through production
• Assist in training other departments on new projects/bug fixes/enhancements
• Assist in the monitoring of the Production environment including logs, open tickets, and Beta testing
• Operations issues – triage, research and maintain open issues relating to project, bug and enhancement releases
• Handle other tasks as assigned by the Director of Website Operations

Required or (if Noted) Preferred

• Must not be a technophobe (must have a willingness to learn new technologies and tools including but not limited to Selenium, Linux/Unix, SQL and some minimal Java and Java script and Groovy)
• Must be an excellent multi-tasker, self-motivated and a quick learner
• Must have demonstrated high attention to detail and organization in previous or current job
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of databases, including knowledge of SQL (Preferred)
• 2 + years working in the travel industry, ideally with Sabre experience (Preferred)
