Gotta get out of the same old house? A change of scenery can work wonders for productivity. The great part about studying or working remotely is that you can literally do it from anywhere (as long as you have wifi). So, why not do it with a beautiful beach or some picturesque mountains waiting to be conquered in your backyard? Grab some friends, get Covid tests and rent a house somewhere new for a month or so! We’ll help you with the planning and let you in on the top destinations that are welcoming Americans to work or study remotely.

Barbados

Barbados recently announced their Barbados Welcome Stamp, a visa that allows people to stay in the country and work for any amount of time up to a year. But if you just want to study/vacation for two weeks, that works too. During your free time, enjoy the beaches, stroll through Bridgetown or try some water sports if you’re feeling adventurous. Just make sure you follow the strict travel protocols that are in place.

Bermuda

Similar to Barbados, Bermuda is also offering a program where visitors can come and work remotely for up to a year. Who wouldn’t want to work on a lush island with renowned pink sand beaches? Just make sure to comply with their Covid rules which include testing before your trip, upon arrival and throughout your stay.

Colorado Springs

If you love nature and look forward to exploring the outdoors after a day of work or studying, rent a place in Colorado Springs. On the evenings and weekends, you can go for hikes, test the waters with white water rafting, visit the Garden of the Gods and more. With stunning scenery at every turn, you’ll feel right at ease here.

Asheville, NC

Also another great place for our outdoorsy people, Asheville is the perfect spot to work or study remotely. It’s not exactly a bustling city which makes it a great spot to get work done, but will definitely keep you busy on the nights and weekends with its amazing food, brewery and art scenes. In addition, it’s located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains where you can do plenty of hiking, waterfall chasing and more.

Turks and Caicos

Yup, another beach destination but this island has some of the best beaches and clearest water in all of the Caribbean. Although there are strict measures being taken, including a nightly curfew and proof of a negative Covid test upon arrival, there’s nothing better than an ocean backdrop. Get a little snorkeling in on your days off and soak up the sun and the sand. You’ll have no problem getting your work done here – stress is a thing of the past.

Hawaii

Because who wouldn’t want to work or study remotely in Hawaii? If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, try going to Kauai or the big island. If you want a little more to do during your free time, try Oahu or Maui. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them! Spend your evenings and weekends at the beach, exploring volcanoes and waterfalls or surfing. Just make sure you follow the protocols in place including a 14 day quarantine upon arrival.
