With news of Europe reopening to US tourists soon, we’re starting to get excited about all the places in Europe we might be able to visit again soon. Of course, we’ve got some favorites on our mind, like Paris and Madrid, but also some smaller, off-the-beaten-path gems on our bucket list too. Need some inspiration for your own bucket list? These 14 beautiful European cities are the ones we’re most looking forward to traveling to again once Europe reopens.

1. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is one of the most popular cities in Europe for students, and once you visit, you’ll see why! It’s home to a rich history and culture, but also a bustling and energetic city and nightlife. Tapas are plentiful, dinner and drinks run late into the evening, the beaches are beautiful and there’s an endless amount of things to see and do. Plus, it’s easy to take weekend trips from Barcelona to other beautiful European cities like Valencia, Girona or islands like Ibiza and Mallorca.

When is Spain reopening? Spain reopened for US travelers on June 7. They are currently requiring proof of vaccination to enter. Be sure to check entry information and guidelines on Covid-19 travel requirements before traveling.

2. Vienna, Austria

Vienna is one of Europe’s artistic and cultural hubs, but it’s much less touristed than cities like Paris and Rome. This makes it the perfect destination for a post-pandemic vacation. It has all the charm you’d hope for in a European city getaway!
