Wednesday – Romania
The show was shot Bușteni, Romania in locations like the Cantacuzino Castle. Besides that, the show shot in both Bucharest and Sinaia too.
Where the Crawdads Sing – Louisiana
The book is set in Louisiana, but the movie was filmed throughout Houma and New Orleans, Louisiana. You will find that Kya’s house actually lives on the banks of Lake Pontchartrain, certainly not in fictional town Barkley Cove.
Young Royals – Sweden
The show’s main filming location was Kaggeholms gård in Stockholm County, Sweden – a manor building/conference center irl. Scenes in the show that are at the royal palace were shot at Stora Sundby Castle, also in Sweden.
Derry Girls – Northern Ireland
As the name suggests, Derry Girls was filmed in Derry, but also in Belfast, both in Northern Ireland. Fans should recognize Guildhall, the city centre of Derry, and can enjoy visiting to all the streets of the show. Also, there’s even a city mural in honor of the show!
Heartstopper – the UK
Obviously the show takes place in a lot of different UK places. To list a few of the highlights you’ll be sure to recognize (while trying to avoid spoiling things):
- Truman Grammar School for Boys is actually Herne Bay High School (except the Rugby pitch which is at the now closed E-Act Park Burnham Academy)
- The bowling birthday party is at the HollyWood Bowl High Wycombe in Southeast England
- The train station is the North Weald Railway Station in Essex
- The beach is Herne Bay Pier in Kent
Do Revenge – Atlanta and Miami
This movie actually split up its filming locations between two cities (both Miami and Atlanta). In Miami, you’ll find that shooting locations included Miami South Beach and Curio at Faena Bazaar. Then for Atlanta shooting spots? Rosehill Country Day school is actually Oglethorpe University and the Heavenly
Honorable Mention:
The Noel Diary – Connecticut
This year’s latest Christmassy drama was shot in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in towns like Bridgeport and Westport. However, the exception to this: the snowy scenic shots are from Vancouver, Canada.
