Parents: 3 Reasons to Send College Students to Europe for Spring Break 2013

Spring Break 2013

College students all over the country are starting to talk about their wild spring breaks. Soon they’ll plan where to go and which parties to attend. Cancun or Miami this year? Parents are getting nervous about wild parties, keg stands and beaches full of half-naked students. Students are getting excited. But what if parents could have a say in where their students go? Does it sound too good to be true?

We’ve got a solution for all the parents out there: Send your kids to Europe this year!  Here are 3 reasons you should consider this idea:

  1. Meaningful experience–  Travel broadens the mind. It’s better to be drunk in Paris than drunk in Florida. During the day they can visit great museums, see famous sites and experience new cultures. Getting around and managing a different language is a great educational experience. Simply put, it’s nice to experience something worth writing home about.

  2. It can be affordable – It truly can! You can find cheap student flights to major European destinations. Once you’re there cheap accommodation and dining is widely available. There are also great low-cost airlines that can shuttle them safely from one great city to the next. Eastern European destinations are perfect for budget vacations – fun, cheap and full of history! Suggest hot destinations like Prague or Krakow. Don’t stay for too long in mega-cities and you’ll be just fine.
  3. It’s full of options – You can visit several countries in a week. With a rail pass and a flexible schedule students can explore on the go without breaking the bank. It’s safe and you’re not stuck on the same beach for a week.
