Mike Cleary has been appointed Executive Vice President of StudentUniverse. In his new role, Mike has ultimate commercial responsibility for the business and will work closely with the other members of the executive team to manage the business globally. Prior to this appointment, Mike served as Senior Vice President/Chief Commercial Officer of StudentUniverse for five years.

Since joining StudentUniverse in 2011, Mike has led the business development, travel services and product teams – all of which have enjoyed impressive growth under his leadership. In addition, in his over 26 years in the industry, he has successfully led three other travel companies (two of which went on to be acquired by market leaders in their respective spaces). His experience at StudentUniverse, and his track record of success made him a great choice to lead our business to continued heights.

Mike succeeded Atle Skalleberg, who had served as StudentUniverse’s Chief Executive Officer since 2012. Atle will continue to serve on the StudentUniverse Board and provide Global Leadership as Chief Digital Officer for the Flight Centre Travel Group. Speaking on Mike’s appointment, Atle said, “Mike has the full support of our Executive Team to manage our ambitious plans for growth.”
