Updated Thursday November 13 at 1:35 PM Eastern Time:

Our team has been working on reviewing and resolving concerns caused by an email that was sent in error around 6:00 PM Eastern Time yesterday (November 12, 2014).

We would like to reiterate that no users were charged, no information was compromised and that StudentUniverse was never hacked. The email that refers to a transaction taking place was intended for a specific recipient and was sent to a distribution list in error. Recipients can disregard this email and do not need to contact their banks or credit card companies.

If you require further information regarding your information on file with StudentUniverse, we kindly ask that you email help@studentuniverse.com as we cannot respond to these requests in the public domain.

We are still working to respond to each phone call, email and social media message. We ask for your patience as we work to respond to each inquiry individually.

Updated Thursday November 13 at 11:30 AM Eastern Time:

At approximately Eastern Time on November 12, 2014, an email was sent to a large number of StudentUniverse users and contacts.

You may have received an email from StudentUniverse entitled “Confirmation Email: Group Flight Payment Received”. This email was sent as a result of internal human error. If you received such an email, please disregard its contents and note that you have not been charged anything and that no personal information has been leaked. The email is unrelated to actual transaction data.

Over the years, we have partnered with numerous reputable companies to provide giveaways, offers and more. We have confirmed that every recipient of the email has been associated with StudentUniverse either directly or through a trusted partner. The recent email may have included some inactive contacts, whom would not regularly receive communications from StudentUniverse. We have corrected this issue and you will no longer receive similar emails from StudentUniverse.

For additional personal information please email help@studentuniverse.com

We are still dealing with a large amount of requests and phone calls and ask that you please bear with us as we do our best to respond to each of you.

Thanks, Team StudentUniverse
