With the launch of the new StudentUniverse hotels platform, members will get hotel deals they can’t find anywhere else.

With the new service, StudentUniverse members can search private, member-only hotel rates to get exclusive hotel deals as much as 40% off of public or published rates. In addition to the hotel offering, StudentUniverse will continue to make hostel accommodation available, so members can search for any property that fits their budget in one place.

The member-only rates function similarly to other opaque or hidden property sites, where results will initially only show the price of the hotel. However, instead of having to wait to see what property was booked until after the purchase is complete, StudentUniverse members, once logged in, will be able to see the specific property with the member-only price prior to checkout.

“We’re very excited about the new hotels service” says Director of Partner Development, Evan Becker, “it really hits the core of our business, offering up exclusive travel discounts to StudentUniverse members.”

In addition to the member-only pricing, StudentUniverse will be utilizing reviews from TripAdvisor so members can feel confident about the rooms they are booking. Additional filters on the site will allow members to sort by price, star rating, neighborhood, distance to city center, amenities, accommodation type (hotel or hostel), or private/shared rooms. StudentUniverse has also added an interactive map that allows users to search and sort to find the perfect location for their trip.
