How do I get from the Dublin airport to central Dublin?

The Dublin Airport (DUB) is located close to the city center, so it’s easy to get from the airport to the downtown area. There are two bus options to get you from DUB to the city center of Dublin: Dublin Express, and Aircoach. Dublin Express has 16 different spots throughout the city for drop off points, helping you more easily get exactly where you want to be. Aircoach has less spots in city centre (4), but runs 24/7. Both buses depart up to every 15 minutes and cost about €7 (about $7.50 USD). Of course, you can also rent bikes or walk! If you’re going to be hopping back and forth across town, you might want to get a Leap Card to ride on the trams. Just add money to the card and tap before boarding.

Flights from the US to Dublin generally take 6-10 hours, depending on which coast you’re flying from. Connecting flights, of course, take a bit longer. Good news though: there’s over 120 flights between the US and Dublin each week! If you’re flying from a major US city like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Orlando (or others), you can usually score a direct flight to Paris. When is the best time to fly to Dublin?

There really isn’t a bad time to fly to Dublin. The weather is cool and rainy, yet consistent. It rarely gets above 70° or drops below 30°. The warmest months in Dublin are, of course, July and August. However, August is one of Dublin’s rainiest months. Generally, best times to visit Dublin are in May or July, which tend to have the warmest days with the least rain. However, since it’s rainy pretty often, you should probably bring an umbrella and a raincoat, no matter when you visit. The most popular times to visit Dublin are St. Patrick’s Day (duh) and in July. If you want a quieter experience, try May, September or October. Keep in mind that many sights and hotels close or run on limited hours in the winter months.
