Flights to Seattle

We've got a few must-sees:

• Pike Place Market. This 9-acre permanent farmer’s market is by far the most popular thing to do in Seattle! See fishmongers tossing fish across the stalls, visit the gum wall (yeah, it’s just what it sounds like), shop for local produce or sample some of the city’s best foods and restaurants. We recommend grabbing a bite at Beecher’s Mac N’ Cheese (claimed to be the World’s Best and we’re not denying it!), Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt or any of the seafood restaurants!
• The Space Needle. Probably the most iconic landmark in Seattle, it’s definitely worth a trip to see the Space Needle. From the top, an observation deck lends amazing 360-degree views of the city (and are even more incredible during sunset).
• Get outside! All of Seattle’s rainy days means tons of parks and green spaces for the sunny ones. Head out for a picnic or a bike ride through one of dozens of the parks and gardens in the city (Kerry Park or Golden Gardens Park are two of our faves). If you have a car, Olympic National Park isn’t far away and it’s stunning!

The easiest way to get around—especially if you’ll be traveling outside of the main downtown area—is to rent a car. However, if you don’t want to get a car, you can get around using Seattle’s public transportation: a mix of buses, trolleys and monorails that’ll help you explore most of the main areas of the city. Of course, walking or renting a bike is also a great way to get around on sunny days!

Yes, definitely! Seattle has a low crime rate and is generally safer than quite a few other American cities, so you should feel good about traveling to Seattle. However, normal city rules apply: keep an eye on your purse/belongings at all times and don’t go wandering around in low-lit or unfamiliar areas of the city after dark. Otherwise, you’ll be fine!

Thankfully, Seattle has no shortage of good food to eat while you’re visiting. Some of our favorites include:

• The seafood. It goes without saying that the seafood in Seattle is some of the freshest you’ll find anywhere! From salmon to tuna to oysters to clam chowder, you really can’t go wrong.
• The coffee. Home to Starbucks, Seattle’s Best and other coffee chains, when you’re in Seattle you really can’t go wrong with coffee choices. Coffee is an art here: so whether you’re popping into a local cafe or jumping in the line out the door at the original Starbucks location, you’ll have no problem finding a delicious latte.
• The pho. Seattle has a large Vietnamese community, which means there’s some amazing pho to be found all over the city. Even better, a hot bowl of pho pairs perfectly with Seattle’s rainy days.
