Like most college students, I love visiting New York City. No matter how many times I go there, there is always a new place to go, a new restaurant to try, a new show to see, and a new experience to have. Here is a list of some of my favorite things to do in New York City.
- Go to the top of the Empire State Building
Going to the Main Observation Deck on the top of the Empire State Building is a must for every person traveling to New York City. I love the breath-taking aerial view you get from this world famous spot. My favorite time to go is right at sunset. The Main Observation Deck is open 365 days a year from 8am-2am and costs $23 to visit.
- Visit Strawberry Fields in Central Park
Strawberry Fields in Central Park is a memorial to the world-famous Beatles singer John Lennon and is named after one of the bands most well-known songs. This part of the park is a designated ‘Quiet Zone’ and is the perfect place to get some peace and quiet in the city that never sleeps. The Imagine Memorial right in the center is usually decorated with flowers in the shape of a peace sign, making this a must stop photo-op for all New York City visitors.
- Eat at Max Brenner Restaurant
One word: CHOCOLATE. Max Brenner is a chocolate haven and a must try for all people that have a sweet tooth. This restaurant has both sweet and savory menu options but is most famous for their dessert offerings. My favorites include their Urban S’mores Fondue, Chocolate Pizza and Melting Marshmallow Hot Chocolate.
- See “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying”
This Broadway play was absolutely amazing and by far one of my favorites. It made me laugh out loud and dance in my seat. I was always a huge Nick Jonas fan and he is the perfect star for the role of J.Pierrepont Finch. The songs are catchy, the cast is amazing and the play is hilarious. This is a must see for anyone planning on going to a Broadway Show during their New York City trip.
There are so many more fun activities to do in New York City that I can’t possibly fit on one list. I encourage everyone to take a trip there immediately, you definitely won’t regret it!
