1. Truckeroo Food Truck Festival — Washington, D.C.
Food trucks are all the rage these days, and food truck fans will love Truckeroo Food Truck Festival in Washington D.C. This event has a variety of over 25 trucks, serving food ranging from BBQ to burritos to crepes and everything in between. Plus, there’s live music and games like cornhole all day. This event takes place on Friday, August 19th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., so you can take the rest of the weekend to explore the nation’s capital!
2. Austin Ice Cream Festival — Austin, Texas
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! You can’t go wrong with ice cream to beat the summer heat so stopping by the Austin Ice Cream Festival on Saturday, August 13th is a must! In addition to free ice cream with admission, there will also be live music, games, and even an ice cream eating contest. 3. Maine Lobster Festival — Rockport, Maine
Experience famous Maine lobsters at the Maine Lobster Festival from Wednesday, August 3rd through Sunday, August 7th. This five-day festival has so much to offer: a parade, carnival, live entertainment, the Great International Lobster Crate Race (a must-see) and, of course, endless lobster and seafood! Make sure to get yourself a lobster roll!
4. Seattle Street Food Festival — Seattle, Washington
Across the country, Seattle hosts one of the largest street food festivals in the US. The Seattle Street Food Festival, which takes place on Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st, boasts an impressive 29 food trucks and 23 booths, not to mention a beer garden and a pop-up picnic where local, upcoming chefs (such as those at Veraci Pizza, pictured above) get to showcase their talent and have their food judged by event attendees and celebrity judges.
