We live in a very technology based world. Without computers and the internet, you would have no way of reading this article. As amazing as the tech world is, it can also be very difficult to navigate through all these machines without having lots of questions. With a growing need for computer literate students and employees, it is very important to stay up-to-date with the tools used in classrooms and work spaces.

I have been lucky enough to find an online tech support forumto help me with my basic questions whenever I stumble upon something I just don’t quite understand or if I need some assistance with a computer problem. I’ve also learned a lot from browsing through other people’s questions and answers.

The most helpful tool I’ve found to increase my computer literacy is CodeAcademy.com. This free online program teaches the fundamentals of website building such as CSS and HTML, along with JavaScript, and other basic programming skills. The lessons are simple step by step teachings, and easy to work through. You can stop and resume lessons at any time, while keeping track of your progress.

This also offers free online tutorials for computer literacy on their website. This site is great for general computer information and a variety of programs. The tutorials range from iPad basics, Google, Microsoft programs, and general use of e-mail, social media and the internet.

Regardless of your current abilities, it has become increasing important to stay current with your technology skills and improve your ability to interact with electronics. Hopefully the next time you find yourself in a pinch, have a tech question, or feel like learning how to create a web page, you will find one of these sites helpful.
