Wouldn’t it be neat if somebody handed you a bunch of money and free prizes just for being you? Saving money while in school can be extremely hard, and hunting for special savings and discounts can be overwhelmingly time consuming. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of sites that do the searching for you, and help you find all sorts of freebies, giveaways, and scholarships.

Campus Live (campuslive.com) is a website run like an arcade. You play games in order to score coins, and can then use the coins to bid on prizes and enter auctions. Also, some games award random winners a featured prize; anything from $200 Visa gift cards to Sony Playstations, to lava lamps. It’s a cool way to gain merchandise while you play around on the web.

Free College Stuff (http://freecollegestuff.comlists promotional samples and freebies. There are lots of offers for free coffee samples and condoms, but other useful stuff is sprinkled in the posts as well.

The Broke Student’s Guide to Stretching Your Dollar (http://brokestudentguide.blogspot.com) is a blog run by a college student, who posts a weekly list of freebies and offers additional money saving tips for anyone trying to get a bang for their buck.

If you’re looking to save some cash on your tuition, registering for a scholarship website can help you find awards relevant to your academic achievements and talents. By creating a profile listing your GPA, special skills, location, organizations you are affiliated with, and interests, you can find scholarships that meet your needs. Some of my favorite scholarship websites are FastWeb (fastweb.com), ScholarshipExperts.com, SuperCollege.com, Zinch (zinch.com), and Cappex (cappex.com).

Also, take advantage of your student ID card. Lots of companies and venues offer student discounts, as long as you have your campus ID card with you.
