For my last two years of high school and first two years at university, I had the opportunity to travel to Panama City, Panama. I went to teach students from all over the world how to be strong debate leaders and successful students. It was a great experience that taught me how to be a responsible student and made me want to continue my field in Education. While visiting Panama, I fell in love with the scenery. It has beautiful beaches, skyscraper buildings, history on every corner, and wonderful street art. While being there, I found some places I HAD to return to that have now become my go-to places.

Here are a few of my favorite locations:Panama

Casco Viejo: This is where the history takes place. There are colonial style government buildings, including cathedrals and museums showing the history of Panama. The area also has events going on either on the streets and in different buildings. From operas and musicals, to block parties and fashion catwalks, you will find of variety to see and do in the plaza. It also has some of the finest dining options in Panama.

Panama Viejo: The first city of Panama and the site of the ruins of ancient Panama. The city was later moved to Casco Viejo, hence the history is very interesting. It is the home of some of Panama’s biggest national parks. Take a stroll around the city and see all the renovations and how it is slowly growing every day.

Amador Causeway: Adventure time. This is where the Causeway connects with three Islands. There is a beautiful view of Panama City and the Puente de las Americas. You can take out your bicycle and ride it all the way around, or take your roller blades. There are also various restaurants and bars on the islands, including a Ferry to visit the Islands.

Panama CanalPanama Canal: A must see if you ever go to visit the wonderful city. It is the cheapest and easiest way to see how the canal works. You can watch how the boats go under the bridge while standing at the top of the building. You can travel to Miraflores locks, and visit the movie theater, the canal museum, restaurants, and see the trains passing by.
