No matter how many times you go to NYC, there is always a new place to go, a new restaurant to try, a new show to see, and a new experience to have. Keep scrolling for some of our personal favs for New York City.

1. Go to the High Line & Chelsea Market

Ever been to an elevated-rail-line-turned-park before? We didn’t think so! Stroll down the 1.45 miles of park, stopping at these viewpoints with great views of the city. Go until you hit Chelsea Market, where there are endless unique shops and an incredible food market!

2. Visit Strawberry Fields in Central Park

Strawberry Fields in Central Park is a memorial to the world-famous Beatles singer John Lennon and is named after one of the bands most well-known songs. This part of the park is a designated ‘Quiet Zone’ and is the perfect place to get some peace and quiet in the city that never sleeps. The Imagine Memorial right in the center is usually decorated with flowers in the shape of a peace sign, making this a must-stop photo-op for all New York City visitors.

3. Eat at Max Brenner Restaurant

One word: CHOCOLATE. Max Brenner is a chocolate haven and a must try for anyone with a sweet tooth. This restaurant has both sweet and savory menu options but is most famous for their desserts. If chocolate isn’t quite your speed, head over to Dylan’s Candy Bar flagship location at 1011 3rd Ave to fix your sweet tooth.

4. See Broadway shows for cheap

Hoping to catch a show while you’re in town? The TKTS booth in Times Square has great discounted tickets for your last-minute plans. Ticket discounts range from 20%-50% off—if you’re a planner, check their live website first!  From classics like Chicago and Jersey Boys to new hits like Kinky Boots and Mean Girls, there’s an option for everyone!

5. Explore a park (that isn’t Central Park)

You can easily spend the better part of a day exploring the beauty that is Central Park, but did you know there are other squares just as popping? Union Square Park, Battery Park, Bryant Park, and Washington Square Park are a few great ones. There are Christmas shops in the winter time and food and art markets when it’s warmer. Plus, they’re both prime locations for people watching.

6. Land of the free and home of the PIZZA

What’s a trip to New York without a solid slice (or seven) of New York pizza? There’s tons of good places, but with the hundreds of pizza places in NYC, how do you know if you’ve found a gem? There’s some key things to look out for: good crust (classic New York is thin crust), sauce to cheese ratio (gotta get it right), and type of oven at the pizza shop (brick oven is key). Our favs? Roberta’s or Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn.

7. See Lady Liberty

Take this opportunity for a quick trip down to South Street Seaport and sneak a glance at the Statue of Liberty. From Seaport Square to the rooftop on Pier 17, New York’s seaport district has been booming with new restaurants, shops and great atmospheres. Take a boat tour to circle her or opt for one that takes you climbing up her steps!
