From hiking mountains, to scuba diving, to sitting outside tanning, individuals all have their own personal activities that remind them of summer, and all that they define it with. With the added stress of a job and just not being a kid any more, it is that much more essential to have something to look forward to at the end of the week. Without something to look forward to, you will become your job and instead of dreaming about summer all year, it will just come and go as if it wasn’t anything special, maybe even becoming a nightmare. Nobody wants that. Read More
Located in Andalucía in the south of Spain and part of the Costa del Sol, Málaga makes for a great summer destination. To North Americans, the weather in Southern Spain in the middle of April tends to feel more like the height of summer (we were really lucky and didn’t experience any rain). Spend your time on the beach, exploring the city center, and hiking up to the Alcazaba for panoramic views of the city and its impressive port. Read More
April in Amsterdam – a little windy, a little chilly, and a whole lot of fun. This quaint little city is a great destination for a weekend getaway. It’s big enough that you won’t run out of things to do, yet small enough to make you feel at home in just a few short days. There are the must-sees such as The Anne Frank House and the Rembrandt and Van Gogh museums however, I would also highly suggest renting a bike and getting out of the city and into the beautiful Dutch countryside.
Sweet, sweet summertime. It’s all about making unforgettable memories and there’s no better way to do that then to travel to some absolutely beautiful locations around the world. Although you probably won’t be able to make it all of them (unless you suddenly win the lottery), take a look at the most beautiful places to visit in the world and if you pick one, you will have an unique experience that will make your summer like no other. Prague, Czech Republic – A modern day fairy tale city where the beer flows cheaper than water. I could write about the Pražský orloj (Prague Astronomical Clock) in Old Town Square, or the “Walk of Apostles” that takes place at two o’clock everyday, or Pražský hrad (Prague Castle), which is most accessible via the Karlův most (Charles Bridge), but I won’t because instead I’m going to write about the food, the beer, the wine, and the markets. For my last two years of high school and first two years at university, I had the opportunity to travel to Panama City, Panama. I went to teach students from all over the world how to be strong debate leaders and successful students. It was a great experience that taught me how to be a responsible student and made me want to continue my field in Education. While visiting Panama, I fell in love with the scenery. It has beautiful beaches, skyscraper buildings, history on every corner, and wonderful street art. While being there, I found some places I HAD to return to that have now become my go-to places. Recently, I spent a weekend living an absolute dream in the Whitsunday Islands. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this little slice of heaven, it’s a cluster of islands off the northern coast of Queensland, Australia. I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice during my time down under, and I can’t even begin to explain the beauty that waits there. Read More
