Want more tips for finding last minute spring break trips? Here’s a few ideas:
  1. Get off the beaten path. Skip Miami and Cancun and pick a non-traditional spring break destination. You’ll avoid the crowds and are more likely to get a good deal in a location that doesn’t have people flocking to it during March.
  2. Be ok with a little cold weather. Destinations that can’t promise you the best weather can still be fun, and inexpensive, getaways for spring break.
  3. Staycation. Be a tourist in your school city. Enjoy the quiet of a campus without as many people and take the time to enjoy your school’s city without the pressure of classes and tests hanging over your head. Refer to tip #6 for some fun (and cheap) activities to keep you busy!
  4. Camping. If your school is in a place that’s already starting to warm up, hit the great outdoors and go camping. You can rent gear from a local sport goods store and then find a good spot to get away from it all.
  5. Visit a friend. Have a friend from another school who also didn’t make plans? Use this opportunity to visit and save on lodging by staying with them.
  6. Groupon. Our friends at Groupon always have last minute deals on hotels and trips, plus they have special discounts for students.
