Greetings from the University of Denver Study Office of International Education!
Congratulations on your acceptance into the Cherrington Global Scholars program. As part of this program, the University of Denver will cover your air transportation expenses to your chosen study abroad city, through StudentUniverse.
What is covered?
Covered airfare is defined as the specified travel limit for each program city. Click HERE to review the travel limits. Students do not need to leave from Denver; travel limits are simply determined using Denver as the departure city.
Please review all University rules for booking your flight carefully.
If you select a ticket more expensive than the specified travel limit, you will be billed the fare difference.
Booking Procedure:
Step 1-Review the travel limit for your program.
Step 2-Enter your desired outbound and return cities, and dates, and click 'search'. Do NOT set up an account or click 'Get Started'. You already have an account set up, and will sign in later.
Step 3-Select the flight you want to book. Read all ticket rules, restrictions, and layover times carefully. If you are a full-year student, do NOT select a ticket with a 6 month maximum stay!
Step 4-Now sign in to your account. Sign-in is at the top right corner of the results page. Once logged in, you may change passwords
Step 5-Enter your personal credit card info. Depending on ticket type you MAY initially be charged as such we suggest using credit cards that are NOT bank debit cards.
Step 6-Review all ticket details one last time and finalize your order.
Once you have made your booking:
Once you have clicked "Finalize Order", one of two things will happen:
1) If the ticket selected was within the program limit and you have been charged, your credit card will be refunded and the University billed. We suggest using credit cards that are NOT bank debit cards.
OR
2) You will receive an email stating the ticket selected is over the maximum limit. Your personal credit card will be billed the balance only.
If you do not accept the charge and wish to cancel the ticket, you must contact StudentUniverse no later than 4:00pm EST (2:00pm MST) on the next business day. The ticket may be voided, and you may rebook again.
Failure to contact StudentUniverse Groups by the time specified, means you accept the charges to your credit card and ticket terms 'as-is'.
Rules for Purchase:
StudentUniverse will verify booking requests and pricing before tickets are issued. However it is your responsibility to confirm the arrival dates for your program.
DU will only pay up to the maximum limit specified by CLICKING HERE.
You may depart from other cities than Denver, depart early or stay later, add stopovers, or travel to or from different cities than your program dates and destination.
If your airfare is more expensive than the program allowance from Denver, for your program dates, you will be required to pay the fare difference.
Your ticket must be a round-trip ticket. One-way fares are not allowed.
You must purchase your ticket by December 1, 2011 (winter quarter participants) or Febuary 1, 2012 (sping quarter participants), unless permission is granted from the University.
If you are not a Cherrington Global Scholar, you may still use this service; however, you will be responsible for the entire purchase price of your ticket.
Travel Insurance is not covered by DU, but is available for purchase.
If you need additional assistance, cannot find availability, or would like to request a stopover, please email all requests to:udenver@studentuniverse.com.
The StudentUniverse Groups Department is open Monday-Friday, from 9:00am-5:30pm EST.
