Nightlife in Washington DC

Washington DC is home to some of the best clubs and bars as well as great music. If you’re for an edgy, young, diverse crowd then the Adams Morgan’s area is for you, located around 18th street, Dupont Circle, and Logan Circle. If an older, low-key crowd is your style then check out the clubs near U Street and 14th Street in Shaw. Around there you can also find great live jazz in almost every bar and restaurant. For more music and college crowd hit up Georgetown University and check out one of the city’s most prestigious venues, Blues Alley. Try to avoid the Downtown area at night and Foggy Bottom. The clubs are pretty lame to put it mildly. Also, Penn Quarter is one big tourist trap so watch out for that. Washington DC is also home to different and odd clubs as well such as the Palace of Wonders which features vaudeville dancing, sword swallowing bartenders, a pirate bar, and a “museum of oddities”.
