Travel Tips for New York City
Like any big city New York has its share of pickpockets and street crime. Keep your wits about you and walk purposefully, especially in crowds. Don’t leave bags unattended or out of sight.
Swipe your Metrocard at subway turnstiles and on buses. You don’t need to swipe again on your way out.
Most of the New York subway lines run 24 hours a day. Check at your station in case the night train is running on a different platform than usual.
Taxis accept credit cards, though drivers usually prefer cash.
