Travel Tips for Spain

Always ask for possible student discounts in Spain before you purchase admission tickets and transport passes.

Spain becomes quite hot in summer and too cold and rainy in winter, so spring and fall might be the best time for you to visit.

Pickpocketing is unfortunately a problem in a lot of cities in Spain, so keep an eye on your wallet.

Bakeries and bars usually open up at 8am. While supermarkets and department stores remain open throughout the day, small shops in Madrid and elsewhere usually open from 10am to 2pm, close mid-afternoon for the Spanish tradition of lunch and siesta, then open again from 5pm to 8pm.
