Shopping in Lima
In Lima buy beautiful handcrafts and support local craftswomen at the same time! Check out La Casa de la Mujer Artesana Manuela Ramos, at Avenue Brasil, for wonderful presents you’ll want to keep for yourself.
Lima’s shopping is mostly market-type where you can go and negotiate a price for good but most likely fake items. But for authentic traditional rugs and pottery, Mercado del Indios is heaven. The shop Agua y Tierra sells unique handcrafts made by Amazon region dwellers. The craft store Dedalo has a nice cafe attached. Hit up the Polvos Azules near central Lima to buy cheap clothes, music, shoes, backpacks, spirits, and perfumes. For high-end fashion needs, the mall LarcoMar has it all.
