Dining in Beijing
In Beijing, be sure to feast your eyes and your stomach at the array of stalls in the Donghuamen Night Market. There are delicious noodle dishes and more freaky foods like grasshoppers, too! Wangfujing Snack Street has many tasty delights, too, for student travelers in China on a budget. Chinese food has gained worldwide fame, but in Beijing, chefs cook Mandarin cuisine. Peking Roast Duck must be experienced here. Also try the Manhan Quanxi or the Manchu-Han Chinese full banquet, a traditional banquet for Manchu emperors of the Qing Dynasty, though it can get a bit expensive. You may also opt to taste traditional Beijing snack foods like Fuling Jiabing, a pancake or flat disk with tasty filling. A visit to one of Beijing’s teahouses is also great weekend fun.
