Volunteer and Travel in Eastern Europe
Combine Meaningful Volunteering and Adventure Travel in Eastern Europe
International Student Volunteers (ISV) is a USA based non-profit organization that allows you to combine incredible volunteer projects with action packed adventure travel. Since 2002, over 15,000 people have traveled with ISV and made a significant difference across 6 continents.

ISV’s Eastern Europe Program
Eastern Europe is one of the hottest new destinations for world travel. The region has a rich, vibrant history, majestic scenery and an incredible culture, which makes this region perfect for ISV’s volunteer and adventure program. The ISV European Program will take you through the cobbled streets of former medieval towns to mountainous regions of forests and rushing rivers. With ISV, you’ll explore deep gorges and canyons, fertile farmlands and view vibrant coastal settlements. Experience the excitement of sailing aboard our private yacht and exploring Adriatic islands, feasting on seafood and learning about World Heritage listed palaces and castles built over two thousand years ago. Become involved in village life on your Volunteer Project as you help to sustain communities and their local wildlife, or work with underprivileged children and families. Join us on this unique experience as you discover the natural and cultural diversity of Eastern Europe.

Volunteer Projects
Projects in Eastern Europe are located throughout Croatia, Bosnia and Romania. Comparative to Western Europe, development in the region has been slow, leaving gaps in social and environmental services. Community development projects involve working with children and impoverished families across the region. Conservation projects retain strong community development links focusing on endangered species management, habitat restoration and environmental education. Projects are uniquely located either in mountain villages, coastal island communities and historic regional towns. Current Volunteer Projects include:
- Assisting with the development of environmental awareness, community empowerment and species protection (Eurasian Griffon Vultures)
- Children’s education and Summer Camp style programs for underprivileged and disenfranchised youth
- Species protection and monitoring (brown bears), education and ecotourism programs
- Rescue programs for street children and orphanage programs
