Things to do in Warsaw

Warsaw’s beautiful architecture and sights make it a great place to have a lot of fun on a little money. Most of the sightseeing can be done in the Centrum area. Taking a tour of Warsaw’s Old Town, which was ruined during World War II and since restored, you can find the Polish Royal Castle and take a tour. Also be sure to check out the Royal Road in Wilanow. It is really scenic and beautiful, with many different interesting things to see along the way, such as the Poster Museum. Warsaw also has tons of professional musical and play companies that put on performance weekly. The Polish National Opera and Warsaw Philharmonic are located in Warsaw and are definitely worth the check out. Do you like festivals? Warsaw has tons of great festivals to hit up like the Warsaw Film Festival, Warsaw Summer Jazz Days, Jewish Culture Festival, Warsaw Autumn, Old-Polish Music Festival, Garden Theatres Contest, and Noc Muzeow, or Long Night of Museums.

Nightlife in Warsaw

Warsaw has some great nightlife! Tons of bars, clubs, coffee shops, and concerts make this city one great place at night. For some great bars check out old town areas like Trzech Krzyzy in Srodmiescie. Drink prices are usually low, and alcoholic beverages in public places is prohibited, but this is often ignored by locals. Do you like to go clubbing? Then this place is for you. People in Warsaw often spend nearly every night out at the many different clubs in the city. Ul. Mazowiecka in Srodmiescie are where the best clubs are. Students usually go to places like Hybrydy, Stodola, and Remont where the places aren’t usually the best but the drinks are cheap. Also be sure to check out concerts going through the city. Most bands usually make a stop here to play a show and are usually not that expensive.

Colleges and Classes in Warsaw

Warsaw has tons of great schools that offer a wide variety of courses and are very good about accepting study abroad students. The University of Warsaw, Poland’s largest university, offers a large variety of courses and programs to choose from. It has about 50,000 students enrolled. There’s also the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland’s largest technical university. Other institutions include Warsaw School of Economics, Collegium Civitas, Akademia Medyczna, Clark University, and The Academy of Arts.

Travel From Warsaw

The Kampinos Forest, a wild and beautiful primeval forest, often called the green lungs of Warsaw, is an ideal choice for a day off from the noise of the city. Also be sure to hit up Krakow, the former capital of Poland and named the European City of Culture in 2000. For an older take on the city check out Lublin, a medieval city with a well preserved old town.
