Things to do in Vienna
The Hofburg Palace is a major destination and identifiable building in the city. The New Palace is the newest and largest section of the palace. Kunsthistorisches Museum has pieces by Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Bosch, and Brueghel. Check out The Imperial Furniture Collection at the Imperial Furniture Museum. Here you can see the largest furniture collection in the world, dating back to the Austrian emperors since Charles VI. KunstHausWien aka Vienna House of Arts is dubbed a Disneyland for adults, with round, colorful windows and bright colorful art dawns on all the walls. There are over a dozen other museums to suit all interests as well in the city. Famous buildings you must see are St.Charles Cathedral, the largest Baroque cathedral north of the Alps, Schloss Schönbrunn, whose gardens and zoo are the oldest in the world, and Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral). The Ring circles the innermost part of the city. This is the original part of the city since old Medieval times.
Nightlife in Vienna
Vienna is most famous for its wine production. White is more popular then red. November 11th marks the new wine season. Visit a Buschenschank, type of tavern that serves its own wine products. Beer gardens are also fairly popular here. The nightclub Flex is considered one of the best nightclubs in Europe and is a tourist hotspot. There are many bars and clubs around the city that offer a variety of wine, beers, and liquors. Note the music in Vienna is a mix of Eurotrash-techno.
Colleges and Classes in Vienna
Vienna offers competitive and comprehensive colleges and universities. Part of why Vienna is so popular with study abroad students is the wide selection of courses and the willingness to comply to most home universities standards. Travel From Vienna
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is only 60 km from Vienna. It is about an hour by train, which go to and from every half hour. Györ, Hungary is half way between Vienna and Budapest and is a great in between to see both places. Wachau valley is closer by. It is a beautiful, windy valley of high cliffs with amazing medieval castles. Klosterneuburg is a nearby historic town. Czech Republic is close by and accessible by train or car.
