Things to do in Barcelona

La Rambla is the most famous street in the city. The reason it is a tourist highlight is because of the variety of shops and souvenirs here. Also street performers, pets, and flowers stands adorn the middle of the street. It is a crazy time every day. The Plaça d’Espanya was used for the 1929 World Exhibition. The Montjuïc Castle is old and historic and from the top you can see out onto the whole city. Olympic Port is where you can find the remains of the Summer Olympics that were held here. And Güell Park is a beautiful sight with mosaic tile designs on benches and the ground. Remember to walk over to the beach and oceanfront. It’s not the nicest beaches compared to other places, but it is still a really beautiful sight.

Nightlife in Barcelona

Nightlife in Spain is crazy and exotic and Barcelona is no exception. The party doesn’t really get started until about midnight. And you better bet things keep right on going until 6 or 7 in the morning. Not that everyone stays out this late, however there is always the option. Do plan your footwear accordingly because you will definitely not go home until sunrise. The saying goes as one door closes another one opens with a drink waiting. During the warmer weather many places will have outdoor patios that you can sit out on. And there is no law against public drinking here so you can take a beer on the beach if you want. Every major district has a good assortment of clubs too. So grab a nice outfit and a pitcher of sangria and you’re good to go.

Colleges and Classes in Barcelona

The University of Spain and the University of Barcelona both reside here. You can take classes here and some are offered in English. An important thing to note however is that many universities primarily offer Spanish only courses and it is generally advised that you speak or understand a little Spanish before coming over. Also, check with your home school to see the requirements and if they already have an affiliation with a school in Barcelona. Travel From Barcelona
