Why go skiing for Spring Break?
By the time spring break roles around the typical ski season is over for many resorts. Many people have moved beyond it and are looking ahead to spring. This is the perfect time to go because ski resorts have all sorts of deals to attract people to go skiing in March. You will be able to get a lift ticket for a fraction of the normal in-season price. Also, the slopes and chairlifts won’t be as crowded because most people have already taken their vacations. And other college students will be heading south for the beaches. Airfare is cheaper to these places as well because the airlines raise rates for more tropical places during this time of year. And it is generally a cheaper time of year to fly anyways. Accommodations will be relatively inexpensive, especially compared to the spiked holiday prices in December and January. What could be better then saving some cash and hanging ten with your friends at a cool ski resort?
Where To Go
Believe it or not there are a lot of great ski resorts that are still open for spring break. Most of the smaller resorts will more likely be closed because they lack the ability to create man made snow in such volumes. The good news is, the larger resorts that are farther north have better skiing and snowboarding anyways, and they tend more often to be open. This is definitely the epitomy of a win-win situation. College students should look into inexpensive airfare ahead of time to make sure you’re getting the best deal. Waiting too long could mean paying more.
