Activities
Gambling is the obvious activity that draws people to Vegas. From the Bellagio, the Palms, MGM Grand, to the Mirage, and Mandalay Bay there is a wide variety of casinos and styles to choose from. There are also too many to count slot machine casinos at every corner. Poker, Crabs, and Blackjack are the major games. Texas Hold Em’ can be found in most casinos. Remember to have a picture ID on you at all times, as you will be required to show it EVERYWHERE. Some casinos will even make photocopies of your ID and put your information on their computers. Shows are another big reason to come to Vegas. During spring break weeks there are a lot of great shows with celebrities, singers, comedians, and memorable shows you will not forget easily. Cirque du Soleil has become very popular in recent years. Las Vegas offers many different shows for this. You can also pick from any of these shows: Blue Man Group, Buck Wild, Mamma Mia!, Stomp Out Loud, Penn and Teller, Xtreme Magic Starring Dirk Arthur, and Mac King Comedy Magic Show. And what would Las Vegas be without the adult entertainment shows? You can find Chippendales, Crazy Girls, Zumanity, X Burlesque, and Fantasy here. Girls and guys alike love watching these sexy, steamy shows with friends over a few drinks.
Nightlife
The day activities carry over to the night as the sun sets on this wild city. Casinos are just as much fun in day as at night. However after a certain time there is a curfew for the under 18 crowd. So the casinos may be a bit more enjoyable amongst the adult crowd. Shows are also a good way to spend your night. However the night brings out the clubs, which is a lot of fun here. Palms casino in particular has an incredible Playboy inspired nightclub with dancers and a large fully stocked bar. Most hotels have clubs as well and casinos will also have a separate room with DJ’s and dancing. In Las Vegas celebrity DJ’s as well as celebrities themselves can be seen at the various clubs getting their groove on. This is really the heart and soul of spring break here. Drais, 3121, Body English, Coyote Ugly, and Rock Cafe are here. Teatro Euro Bar is where the winners of the casinos go. This club has the most expensive cocktail in the world at $2,200 for one glass. Come here if you dare, but be careful who’s handling your credit card.
Travel Tips
Las Vegas makes no fallacy that it is a safe city. Although it is fairly safe and perfectly fine for families out in daylight, at night the parties can get wild and out of hand. You really just need to be careful and implement the buddy system here. Particularly girls should be aware of dark alleys and drunken guys in the streets. Have a cell phone on you and know where your friends are at all times. This is a gambling city and desperate people come here sometimes to rob tourists or new comers. Keep your possessions simple and on your body. Don’t carry too many large bills in your wallet and use general common sense.
