Summer in Mexico
Mexico is one of the most fun places to travel at any time of the year. In the summer the temperature gets even hotter. Second only to spring break season, the summer is so much more relaxed. No need to worry about midterms or papers. During the summer all you have is time to spend hanging out with your friends, and oh yea maybe that part-time job. Take a week or two, maybe even longer and jet to Mexico; where the fun really begins. There are so many wonderful regions, cultures, and beaches to explore. You can’t go wrong with an amazing trip to one of the most exotic places in the west. Plus you don’t have to worry about the extra costs of Europe. This is practically in your backyard. Get your favorite swimsuit and flip flops and take some friends on a trip you will never forget.

Places to go in Mexico
Mexico is a very large country. There are many places to see and explore. Every region comes with its’ own unique culture and a host of activities. The first thing you really want to do is figure out what area you want to spend the majority of your time. If you are a beach lover, Cancun, Acapulco, and Salina Cruz are the best options. The whole southern Pacific coast has some really incredible beaches. Booking flights and hotels ahead of time for these locations is important as this time of year is very popular. Acapulco is where all those celebrities seem to be headed for their private beach excursions too! The Yucatan Peninsula is a great archeological area. Right along the Caribbean coast this was once the home of the Mayan Civilization. There are some great historical and preserved sites. Mexico City, the country’s capital, is in Central Mexico. In Mexico City you can tour the capital, monuments, and Government for this country. Besides this you will want to stay away from Northern Mexico. It is not really a touristy area. Unless you are familiar with the country, you will want to stick to the more traveled areas. They have more things to do and places to stay anyways.
Things to do in Mexico
Around Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas enjoy surfing, snorkeling, boogy boarding, scuba diving, and kayaking. Rent skadoos and race around the water with friends. Since this is where most college students choose to visit during the summer there is a lot of tourism. This means lots of hotels, resorts, nighttime activities, and timeshares. It might be worthwhile to look into the all inclusive resorts. You will mostly find these around the more popular beach areas. These are really convenient too because you don’t have to worry about food, nightlife, activities, and excursions. Go white water rafting in Veracruz. The main archeological sites are Chichen Itza, Coba, Monte Alban, Palenque, and Calakmul. Take a tour of the sites, explore the historical past, and learn about an ancient civilization of the Mayan people. Head over to the ecological parks at the Mayan Riviera.
