Summer in Florida
Florida is one of the most popular places to visit in the states. In the summer, swarms of tourists come for the parks, beaches, and great golf courses. The great weather allows for plenty of water sports and outdoor adventure. May and June are the Florida Golf Months. Book your flight and hotel sooner rather than later as there is so much demand for this season. Another great perk of heading to Florida for a summer getaway is for many it is in driving distance or makes for that perfect road trip and flights are also much cheaper than Europe or the Caribbean. In these economic times every little bit helps! The ability to have a fun time in a sub tropical climate sounds like the perfect trip for many college students. Grab your swimsuit and sun glasses and come on down to Florida for a really great time.

Things to do in Florida
Florida is full of activities. The state is well known as being a great spring break destination. And the fun carries over to the summer. The summer, in fact, is the second best time for college students to come, besides the middle of March. Sky diving, hang gliding, hiking, backpacking, and diving off cliffs and reefs; this is really the stuff life is made of. If you can imagine a couple days or weeks spent with your college friends doing all these extreme sports you can imagine a little piece of heaven. Take to the beaches in the south. Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach are full of white sandy beaches. The warm, bath-like ocean comes off from the Caribbean, yet you don’t have to leave the country to experience it. The nightlife down here is incredible and of course one of the best parts about vacationing in Florida is the warm weather at night. Throw on your party dress, get the girls rounded up, and head out for a fun night out on the town. Summer is also baseball season. Even if you missed spring training, the season will be in full swing anytime you come during the summer. Check out a game, maybe you’re home team will be making a stop in town!
Places to go in Florida
Disney World and Universal Studios are the two most popular tourist destinations in Florida. Disney is broken up into many parks including Sea World, Wet and Wild, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Discovery Cove. Bush Gardens is another fun amusement park. Kennedy Space Center is down in Cape Canaveral. Florida is the only place in the world where visitors can see the launches of the shuttles. There are rockets launched every month so there is a good chance you can plan a trip around this. For the outdoorsy type the Everglades National Park is quite the unusual site. You can take an airboat ride through the swamps. There are also the Seminole and Miccosukee Indian reservations in Florida, which is often an overlooked place to visit. Yet there is a lot of history and culture to enjoy. While down in the southern region of Florida head over to the Florida Keys, offering ferries and planes available to get there. This is vacationing at its’ finest. Stretches of beaches and warm, tropical waters make the Keys a great place to visit. Some people like to extend their stay and focus solely on this location.
