Things to do in Europe
Some of the best things to do in Europe cannot be experienced in other places. The red buses in London have created a lot of attention for themselves. They are now one of the more identifiable parts of the city. Amsterdam is the only legal country in Europe to smoke marijuana. This is fun for a group of college buddies. In Rome, feel like you are on the set of Gladiator as you walk through the Colosseum. Nowhere else can you find such a remarkable piece of architecture, besides Greece. Athens has the oldest buildings and artifacts in Europe. Dating back to B.C. places like the Acropolis attract millions of tourists annually. The Eiffel Tower in Paris is a site to behold. Also in Paris is the famous Mona Lisa painting by Da Vinci. You really have to see it to believe it. Back in Italy Florence has the largest collection of art in the entire world. The Uffizi Gallery has some of the most famous paintings and sculptures in the entire world. A trip to Europe would just not be complete without seeing these world masterpieces.
Places to go in Europe
Depending on your specific interests you could really wind up anywhere. There are the top “must see” places. Those would be Paris, Amsterdam, London, Rome, Florence, and Madrid. Each city has a unique feel and vibe. Florence has the best art, although Paris has the most famous museum, the Louvre. Amsterdam is always a party and has the famous Van Gogh museum. London is a marvel with many monuments and lovely architectural buildings. And then there’s Rome. One of the loveliest cities in the world, Rome is absolutely captivating. The Colosseum, Pantheon, Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica, and Borghese gardens are must-sees. If you find yourself in Spain, Madrid needs to be the top priority. If you have a little extra time, traveling around the country isn’t too bad an idea. Valencia and Seville are gorgeous cities. And major Spanish cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia are known to have the wildest nightlife in Europe. Most people only have a week or two to travel around Europe. If you are one of the lucky few who have a month or more then take the time to properly see a country. The French and Tuscan countrysides are equally as breathtaking. In France stay at a Chateau and spend a few days regenerating. Take a couple days for Tuscany. It’s the perfect in between Florence and Rome break. Rent a villa or small room at a B&B. Take a tour of a vineyard and see the wine making process. Germany and Switzerland are really incredible countries that many people don’t get to on their initial swoop of this continent. But that’s a shame because they have incredible castles, museums, and unique histories. A couple weeks here would be something to consider.
