Things to do in West Palm Beach
The first thing you have to do after checking into your hotel is hit the beach! This place really has it all, with over 40 miles of beautiful beaches that offer everything from swimming to surfing and even snorkeling. Each public beach also has a lifeguard on duty during the day. The best places for snorkeling are the John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, located on the north end of Singer Island, and the Breaker’s Reef, right behind the Breakers hotel. Be careful where you park, as police are known to tow cars illegally parked. If you’re ready for a break from the beach then you might want to go see the Flagler Museum. The restored home of Henry Flagler, this luxurious mansion was once home to the co-founder of Standard Oil, and the man who conceived of Florida as a tourist destination. West Palm Beach also contains the Norton Art Museum and the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
