Things to do in Nashville
The AT&T building, which is commonly known as the Batman building due to the ear-like antennas that stick up at the top, is hard to miss and is an easily recognizable landmark. Midtown Nashville is a good place to stop first. There are several restaurants, shopping opportunities, and museums in this area of the city. The Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge offers the best view of the city and the skyline of buildings, perfect for sunset. The Country Music Hall of Fame and museum is also located here, not a sight to be missed. Grand Ole Opry is a long time Nashville staple and this too cannot be missed on a visit to this city.
Nightlife in Nashville
Nashville has several Country Music Dinner Shows. Enjoy music here by the most famous past and present country music stars while you feast on some country cookin’. You can always count on live music at bars, clubs, and more in Nashville. If you are not a country music fan, on 2nd Ave there is a club that plays rock music for a little bit of a change. There are lots of great nightclubs and pubs/bars all around the city as well. Also, there is a decent amount of gay/lesbian bars in this city. Looking for something more low key? Don’t worry, Nashville has plenty sports bars, coffee shops, and theaters as well.

While Nashville is known for it’s abundance of fried foods, travelers can find pretty much any type of food here. There are plenty of great restaurants, American to fine cuisine, that suit everyone’s budget. Midtown Nashville has the best variety and selection when going out for dinner.
Shopping in Nashville
12 South District has a great lineup of vintage stores and funky trendy shops. About a dozen malls are located within and around the city limits. 21st Ave also has a nice selection of stores with various goods. Hickory Hollow Mall , Rivergate Mall, and Cool springs Galleria all have over 150 stores to satisfy your shopping need.
Nashville travel tips
- Watch out for panhandlers, especially at night. Some may become a little aggressive when turned down.
- The Nashville MTA and Music City Star both offer good public transportation around the city.
- Tends to rain a lot in the summer, so make sure to bring an umbrella!
