Things to do in Grand Rapids

The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park on East Beltline Ave., has tons of nature trails and boardwalks, sculpture classes, and many different indoor and outdoor exhibits and gardens to walk through. Ford Museum resides in Grand Rapids and is open every day for tours. His grave is just north of the museums and can be a sight to see as well. For Spanish-style food, try San Chez Bistro on West Fulton St. Yesterdog, on Wealthy SE, features great hotdogs with an early-20th-century atmosphere. Also be sure to try Charlie’s Crab on Market Ave, where you can find some of the best seafood in all of Grand Rapids.

Shopping in Grand Rapids

Schuler Books and Music is a large independent bookstore that is similar to bigger chains, and has a great selection of books and music as well as couches where you can read and have some coffee in peace. Be sure to stop into Little Bohemia, a funky store with cool clothes, gifts, and books. It is downtown in Monroe Center. For most of your shopping needs, try the Woodland Mall in the southeast. This traditional mall has standard chains and is reasonably priced.
