Things to do in Albuquerque
You cannot mention Albuquerque without mentioning the International Balloon Fiesta. This event is the worlds largest hot-air balloon event and the United States’ biggest annual international event. For nine days in October, you may walk out onto a large field where balloonists from around the world set up, inflate, launch, and land their balloons. The sight is something else and is definitely recommended. However, if you are traveling at other times there is still plenty to do in the city. For student travelers who enjoy the outdoors, head to the Sandia Mountains where you can hike, mountain bike, and rock climb. During the winter you can also ski from the summit of the mountain. The city also hosts plenty of museums. The most notable are the National Atomic Museum, The Museum of Art and History, as well as the Rio Grande Zoo.
