Saint Tropez
Saint Tropez is hands down the most luxurious and stunning city in the South of France. A socialite haven and fashion iconic piece, this city was a happening place starting around the 1920’s. During and after WWII, there were some adjustments that needed to be made. Since the beaches were used as a base for troops, they needed to be fixed and restructured. By the mid 1950’s this city was being graced by such beauties as Brigitte Bardot. The streets are lined with labels and brand name stores. Being relatively close to the rest of France and northern Italy, it makes a nice day trip. It is easy to get to by train from Cannes or Nice.

Things to do in Saint Tropez
There are really two main things to do here. Get a golden tan on the lovely beaches and shop til your drop, or run out of money. Many beaches are private and require a fee for a beach chair or towel spot. Keep in mind that there aren’t a whole lot of beaches here, however the ones that are in Saint Tropez are very nice. The shopping lines every street and is incredibly hard to miss. A lot of the stores you will want to window shop line the water. And of course there is the age old activity of taking a walk along the water. You can see yachts and other luxury boats here. Some other fun things to do while here include the International Polo Cup, which is held in early July, and the Gold Polo cup held in September. St Tropez is also home to a number of art exhibitions. There are several art history lectures held here as well.

Dining is one of the most popular activities to do in Saint Tropez. This is because in such a luxurious city the food must match the rest. Throw on your best and come with a hungry stomach. The French know how to eat well. Girelier, Chez Maggi, L’Echalote, and La Table du Marché are all very yummy places. These culinary masters serve European as well as Mediterranean cuisine. Prices can range from mid to high so check the menus before you go inside and you will definitely get to have a tasty meal no matter where you go.
