Cheap flights to Miami

What did you do in Miami?

While in Miami, I visited relatives and friends and also took advantage of the night life. The major hangout in Miami for socializing and partying with friends is Wet Willies. Wet Willie’s serves great tasting frozen daiquiris, with generous portions of alcohol, at fair prices. The bar is located on Ocean Drive in South Beach. The most popular daiquiri at the bar is the “call a cab.” The drink is light on alcohol yet a tasty treat.

What’s a must see in Miami?

The Beautiful beaches of Miami are a must on a vacation or short trip to Miami. Miami is best known for its beaches and tropical weather. Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy this world-renowned vacation destination. Miami features a diverse selection of beaches. Some are great for people watching, others to spend quality time with the family, or to enjoy water sports. Bal Harbor Beach has a Palm-shaded jogging path that curves around a mile-long beach. There is a jetty for fishing at north end of beach. You can find a metered parking lot beneath Haulover Bridge. No lifeguards or showers are available. Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne has three miles of long lagoon style beach protected by 13 lifeguard towers. Beach chairs and umbrella rentals are available.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

I received a psychic reading while visiting Miami by the prominent Micki Dahne. She has appeared on television hundreds of times, has hosted her own radio shows and provides private psychic readings to her clients. Some of Micki’s clients are famous singers, actors and politicians. When the National Enquirer wants a celebrity prediction, they ask Micki! She works from her hi-rise, oceanfront Miami Beach condo. Micki gets her inspiration from the rolling waves of the Atlantic as she would say. Micki informed me prior to my readings that “Whenever she meets someone, she know things about them, she also sees the progression in their lives, past, present and future.”

What sucked?

The traffic definitely was not the highlight of my trip to Miami. Miami is full of people who grew up in culture which holds rules in contempt and it is a city in which traffic enforcement is nearly nonexistent, except for parking enforcement. If you get on a freeway, be prepared to drive 10, 20, or 30 miles over the speed limit. Do not put your faith in having a green light as the other traffic will not necessarily stop for a red light. If a lane ends and traffic from two lanes must merge into one, expect motorists to zoom about trying to bully their way into the head of the line instead of taking orderly turns. If you can, depend on mass transit for most of your transit. There is an excellent bus service throughout Miami Beach.

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

The craziest thing I saw in Miami was a giant iguana crossing a major road which attracted so many people, the traffic was at a stand still. Surprisingly, Iguanas are not the typical Florida reptile. Unlike Florida’s more famous reptiles like alligators, snakes, and even small lizards, iguanas tend to be overlooked as an animal inhabitant of the state. Maybe it’s because they don’t seem to live north of the Everglades, or maybe they are overlooked because they are a non-native introduced species (much like the common brown lizards that are all over the state, they came over by stowing away on boats from Cuba). The common story for how the iguanas began to thrive in the wild is that people had pets that got too big so they let the iguanas go loose. The iguanas decided that Florida’s climate was close enough to their native Central and South American climate, and since then the iguanas numbers have been multiplying. This was an amazing sight to see because this lizard was as big as a full grown large dog!

What was the culture of the city like?

Diverse. Miami is a melting pot for different ethnic backgrounds which makes it so unique. The signs of Miami’s cultural diversity are everywhere, from the Markets and clothing shops in Little Haiti to the multilingual executive offices of Visa International near Miami International Airport. By far, the three things I think are the greatest things in Miami are the weather, the beaches and the diversity of people. In a lot of ways, Miami is setting up the prototype of the international city of the future.

Best places to party?

Club Bed is the best place to party in Miami, hands down. Anyone can make a reservation at BED in South Beach, which may comprise of a king size plush lounge area and a couple bottles of your drink of choice. The two (or more) of you can hop in the sack for a little dinner then party until dawn at a restaurant that replaces tables with plush, king-sized beds and mood music that heats-up as the night rolls on. An acronym for beverage, entertainment and dining, B.E.D. takes sensual surroundings to a whole new level. Bed is a restaurant/lounge which offers divine dining, an enchanting interior and edgy entertainment. Feast your eyes on the Erotica Dinner Theater, where fetish cabaret performances add a little spice to the aphrodisiac cuisine.

Cheap flights to New York City

What did you do in New York City?

I traveled to the New York area to visit my girlfriend during the Labor Day weekend. I spent two days around Newark which is a city in NJ but is supposed to be the stretch of New York City. And indeed it is. At night, I could see the colorful lights of Manhattan just through my bedroom window and it took only a 40 minute bus ride to actually get there. My girlfriend is a student in Seton Hall University which is a small catholic institution with church-like buildings as landmarks. I really enjoyed the peaceful ambiance around the campus, which, unlike most other universities, is separated by rails. There is vast grassland in the center and religious figures along the roads partially covered behind bushes. It just seems like a physical and spiritual oasis isolated from the chaos outside. By the way, the symbol of the university is a private, and it is said that the basketball team there takes much of its spirit.

We went to Manhattan for the last day of my stay with two of my high school friends. It was really a short tour, but filled with excitement. We simply walked around the Time Square and Broadway, since we think that was a better perspective than sitting on the tour bus, getting ourselves immersed in the city, feeling its breath and touching its skin. We stopped by at some fashion stores as well as fancy theaters, and had our lunch eating lots of snacks in a food-vent street beside Time Square, which made me feel like being in the crowded night market again while I was in China. In the afternoon, we took the subway to the South Ferry and had a fabulous trip to the Statue of Liberty. This was our first time being at the Atlantic Ocean coast and we said hello to those sea birds gliding over our shoulders. It was a pity that we didn’t go up in the statue because it was too late. But seeing the magnificence of the statue and learning lots about the immigration history and stories are just as satisfactory. Coming back from the ferry trip, we also visited the site of the World Trade Center and Wall Street, which were not too far, even by bare foot.

What’s a must see in New York City?

Never say you have been to New York if you didn’t even step in Manhattan. There is something for everyone: world-class museums and theaters, historic and newly-erected skyscrapers, fashion shops, assorted restaurants and creative folk art! You can also choose many exciting ways to take your trip: tour buses, ferries, sailboat and even helicopter rides! Moreover, you can get lots of information for tourists just when arriving at the train station or the bus terminal! You should also visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There is some history to learn.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

We accidentally bumped into a crowd celebrating the Brazilian Day around Time Square. That was really, really a CROWD! People blocked several blocks and all were yelling, singing and dancing with some famous stars on a stage. The hottest girls were wearing bikinis and boys with pictures on their faces. It was lucky for us to taste some exciting Latin music and also see the Brazilian love in revelry.

What sucked?

The subway service was bad. The ticket machine at the Time Square station swallowed a 20 dollar bill from us and neither change nor ticket came out of it. We tried to talk to a lady at the information desk yet her attitude was icy cold. We also called the service for help but nobody answered. It SUCKED! The weather was not good either, gloomy and drizzling when we were visiting the Statue of Liberty. The city seemed to be too crowded when I was there, too much hustle and bustle on every street!

Favorite thing in New York City?

Oh, I would say it was the sunrise in New York that I saw on the airplane! It was beautiful and peaceful!

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

Everybody tried to ride on the bull at Wall Street.

What was the culture of the city like?

It was pretty diverse, I would say – just like a world village. You can experience Latin revelry on the street, have dinners in a Chinese restaurant, watch a classical Broadway performance, and listen to music on the subway! On the other hand, everybody seems to be in a hurry, and sometimes they can be rude and cold. Their words were really simple and did not seem to be as warm-hearted as people in the small towns! Is that the so-called “NY Attitude”? I don’t know.

Best places to party?

There are some crowded bars in downtown Newark. But we didn’t hangout at all because some friends alerted me of the danger of being on the street too late at night.

Cheap flights to Hong Kong

What did you do in Hong Kong?

I originally came to Hong Kong for my summer internship and planned to spend two evenings to take a rugby course in Happy Valley (very cheap, only HKD 300). Unfortunately, due to the H1N1, my internship was delayed and eventually canceled. Despite this, I had a very good time using that time to explore Hong Kong and enjoyed my rugby rushing. I traversed the financial districts of Hong Kong, the Central. As later, I got another job. There was not much traveling thereafter. Summer in Hong Kong is excellent: lots of American college students went to Hong Kong. It was very easy to encounter people from the same schools. But the weather may be a bit hot for those who live in a temperate zone.

What’s a must see in Hong Kong?

I think students should group up to visit the Ocean Park Hong Kong. It was the biggest competitor of the Hong Kong Disneyland. Ocean Park is larger and cheaper. Moreover, it is more local. It is a more Hong Kong theme park. And I also recommend that students visit the Zetland Hall at 1 Kennedy Road. Many famous people in Hong Kong patronize there.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

I think a very unusual thing I saw in Hong Kong is that it is very common to run into a movie screening scene. Although Hong Kong is not big, its movie industry is huge. All kinds of movies are in progress. Therefore, I happened to see some actors and actresses shooting scenes twice.

What sucked?

The hotels in Hong Kong are quite expensive. Cheap hotels do exist but their rooms are inhumanely small. So I think it sucks that I had to use up a large amount of money for a room in Hong Kong.

Favorite thing in Hong Kong?

I had mentioned I took a rugby course in Hong Kong, which was really the greatest thing I did in Hong Kong. All my classmates are Hong Kong locals. The rugby course provided me with an excellent chance to make friends and understand their thoughts and customs. On the other hand, people in Hong Kong are not as strong as those in U.S. Thus, it is easier for me to play rugby there.

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

I think the roads in Hong Kong were shocking me. They are not very wide, about three lanes in average for a main road. But there are so many double-decker buses roaring on the road.

What was the culture of the city like?

I have a strong impression that Hong Kong has a very efficient and investment atmosphere. First, cashiers are very, very fast there. Transactions are very fast to complete. Visa and MasterCard are very accessible. In addition, the Octopus, a card that you can pay all the transportation fees and pay at grocery stores, makes transactions fast. In terms of the atmosphere, Hong Kong is no doubt the financial center of Asia. I heard that even housewives in Hong Kong watch finance news and trade Hong Kong stocks, options, and warrants.

Best places to party?

One place that people may ignore is Knutsford Terrace. There are many fancy restaurants. The place is intrinsically romantic. If you prefer a more popular option, take Lan Kwai Fong.

Cheap flights to Chicago

What did you do in Chicago?

On the first day, I spent a whole afternoon at the Art Institute of Chicago. When leaving the museum, I was already in Millennium Park, where I had a wonderful time. I lied on the grass of the Jay Pritzke Pavilion, trod water in the Crown Fountain and took a grimace picture before the Cloud Gate. I also went to the famous scenery of the Chicago-Navy Pier and took a one-hour tour of Architecture Cruises on the Chicago River. I was fascinated by the countless skyscrapers and fantastic modern American architecture on both sides of the river. Leaving Navy Pier, walking along the Lake Shore Drive towards the north, I found another symbolic and interesting place – Buckingham Fountain, one of the largest in the world. In addition, I went to Chinatown to try some traditional Cantonese dim sum. I was really having a fabulous time in Chicago.

What’s a must see in Chicago?

The Art Institute of Chicago is really worth a visit. It was founded in 1879, and its collection now encompasses more than 5,000 years of human expression from cultures around the world. It was full of different works of art from all over the world, such as African, American, Asian, Contemporary, European, Indian, Modern and etc. If you are a fan of Impressionism, then it is impossible for you to miss Georges Seurat’s A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, Vincent van Gogh’s master pieces, such as Self-Portrait, The Poet’s Garden, The Bedroom, The Drinkers, Claude Monet’s world famous Water Lilies, and so on. I was so excited and amazed to appreciate the master pieces with my own eyes and felt the emotion inside the works of art that the artists wanted to express. If you are interested history, culture, architecture, or art, then I strongly recommend you spend a whole day walking around The Art Institute of Chicago.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

I saw the fireworks at Navy Pier. It is quite hard for me to describe the beauty of fireworks in words. They were playing in the background of beautiful skyscrapers, modern American architecture and the Ferris wheel and Merry-Go-Round. The gorgeous fireworks recalled me to childhood, when I took a Ferris wheel and Merry-Go-Round every Sunday in a local park in my hometown. It was really an unforgettable night for me.

What sucked?

Traffic! I was staying near the Chicago O’Hare Airport. It usually took me about forty-five minutes to take the CTA (train) from where I stayed to downtown area. Unfortunately, the CTA changed its route and closed a few stations on weekends. Then I had to take the CTA first, then change buses, again took CTA, and finally it took me about an hour and a half to get to downtown. Even worse, the bus was crowded with people and it was difficult to find a seat. I felt really exhausted from the long time consumed by the traffic.

Favorite thing in Chicago?

Wandering on Magnificent Mile and window shopping was my favorite thing. Chicago never fails to be called a city of Fashion. Magnificent Mile is full of world-famous, high-class brands. By browsing through windows, I got a vivid idea of new fashion trades of this year. Additionally, I was attracted by the new arrivals and eye-catching items in every boutique window. It was really a good recreational activity for me just seeing a lot of beautiful things through glass windows and enjoying without spending a cent.

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

On that day, the weather was so nice and the sun was shining with strong wind. Don’t forget, Chicago is called the Windy City. I spent almost an hour walking from Navy Pier to Buckingham Fountain. It was really crazy for me, because I drive a lot and seldom walk in the city that I live in now. But the scenery of Michigan Lake and Monroe Harbor was so beautiful that I could not hurry away. I planed to rent a bicycle, and then I realized maybe the best thing to do was just walk slowly along the Lake under the sunshine.

What was the culture of the city like?

From my point of view, the culture of Chicago is international and variable. It is one of the metropolises of the world. In Chicago, you can find people from all over world. How did I notice it? Because I tried Chinese Food, Japanese Food, Italian Food, and authentic Chicago food (deep-dish pizza) during my four-day tour. Further, the architecture of Chicago is combined with modern and classical. Chicago is energetic and now it is applying for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Best places to party?

Navy Pier was a great place to party which I would suggest. You can bring all your stuff and arrange an outside party in the park area of Navy Pier. The night scenery is really gorgeous and unforgettable. If your party is arranged on Friday or Saturday, then congratulations, you can enjoy free fireworks and music. How luck you are!

What did you do in Beijing?

I spent my entire summer in Beijing doing a summer internship in a Private Equity firm. The office is very close to WangFuJing, which is in the east center of Beijing and one of the most popular sights for everyvisitor. I lived at WuKeSong, very west of the city and near the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium and Laoshan Mountain Bike Course. After getting up in the early morning, I would usually have my breakfast at some open breakfast stand. My favorite order is one bowl of soybean juice (sweet) and two pieces of fried dough (salty). I was taught to slice the dough into smaller pieces and put them into the juice, I truly love the taste which is very Beijing style. Without a driver’s license and car, I had to take public transportation to and from work. Fortunately, all the subway trains in Beijing are on time (not like the T in Boston). I took the first line which almost runs through the entire city from west to east. The public transportation in Beijing is getting better and better. You can get wherever you want by Gonggongqiche (bus) or DiTie (subway).

What’s a must see in Beijing?

TianAnMen Square is definitely a must see, and around the square you can visit the Summer Palace(empire palace), BeiHai Park (with many beautiful stories),WangFuJing Walking Street (one-stop shopping from traditional to modern), DongSi (for traditional stores), Houhai Pub Zone (many Chinese style pubs and tea places along the inner city lake), etc. As a student, you should definitely visit Peking University and Tsinghua University, which are the top two universities in China. The area of Tsinghua campus is four times that of Peking University. If you have time, you’d better visit some places outside the core city, like the Great Wall.

Most unusual thing you did?

The most unusual thing I did in Beijing was waking up at 3:00 am to go to the TianAnMen Square to see them raise the national flag at the moment of sunrise.

What sucked?

The weather was too hot. When you are taking the bus or train , specially during peaking hours, there are millions of people standing around you sharing the limited cool air from the air conditioner.

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

I rode my bike from Beijing to Tianjin which took way too long and I ended up not being able to feel my behind.

What was the culture of the city like?

It’s very hard to describe, you need to experience it. But you’ll find very modern things mixed with very traditional ones. You’ll see new luxury hotels alongside old Chinese buildings. It’s a great city with an incredible combination of old and new.

Best places to party?

SanLiTuan pub street and HouHai pub zone are the most popular two for all.

Cheap flights to Hong Kong

What did you do in Hong Kong?

After we got off the plane, we called a taxi that took us to our hotel, and left our tons of luggage in the hotel room. After taking a shower briefly which refreshed all of us, we walked through the road right before the hotel and browsed dozens of restaurants, among which we finally selected a Japanese restaurants. After that, we went shopping around near Victoria Harbor and finally at about 11:00 pm returned to our hotel. What a wonderful day! The next day we went to Ocean Park Hong Kong and spent a wonderful day there before we took a random walk across the city, including taking a cruise in Victoria Harbor, and finally left Hong Kong for China mainland in that night.

What’s a must see in Hong Kong?

The Victoria Harbor is a must for those who are eager to enjoy the modernity of Hong Kong as an international metropolitan. Take a cruise in the harbor for about half an hour and let the virtually magnificent city contour be completely exposed to your eyes and camera in a virtually 180 degrees. On the shore stand numerous skyscrapers – HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation) and BOA (Bank of China) that has remained always as the landmark of Victoria Harbor, just to name a few – and I would imagine the skyline to be more fantastic when at night numerous lights from the roof of these skyscrapers go across the sky.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

The most unusual thing I saw in Hong Kong was probably the striking billboards stretching out from the building above the roads. There were tons of them, and virtually blocked much of the sunlight from shedding on the pavement. Some were pretty old and rotten, and I would wonder someday if they would fall down to the pedestrian. I was pretty scared.

What sucked?

The temperature! When we visited Hong Kong, I guess it was the hottest month during the year. It would be a blast for those who live in countries far north near the arctic or Antarctic circles such as Switzerland and Iceland, where sunlight is more of a luxury than daily need, but for me, already suntanned and worrying about how to restore my skin color, the best bet was to put on umbrella everywhere I go. I sweat heavily, thus making my shirts very sticky, which was really annoying.

Favorite thing in Hong Kong?

When walking though a street in Kowloon, we randomly went into an electronic shop and I just discovered that the laptop at Hong Kong is much cheaper than in United States. With no second thought I chose a Dell Latitude laptop, took a careful examination and took it back. It saved me a lot of bucks. Going to Hong Kong not only granted us the beautiful scenery as I discovered in Ocean Park Hong Kong but also brought us the privilege to enjoy the low price of various electronics products among a wide range of selections – you can imagine for yourself!

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

When I was taking a ride of the roller-coaster, I felt so dizzy by the upside-down and rotation movements of the shuttle. It made me feel sick for half a day. My energy decreased significantly, rendering me unable to walk fast as I usually do, and my appetite was gone for the entire afternoon, so I did not have my dinner that day. In one word, the roller-coaster at Ocean Park really drove me mad and I concluded that I would never take any ride ever in my life again.

What was the culture of the city like?

Most of the time people are busy walking on the pedestrian rushing and pushing – it is really a crowded city, even more crowded than in New York. However, most of the people are very polite. We asked several times for direction, and the ones who were asked always pointed us the way quickly and went on rushing. Also, there were many streets on both sides of which are traditional buildings like back in early 20th century. Overall, it is a pretty nice mixture and modernity and tradition, and hastiness and politeness.

Best places to party?

I guess the best places to party are the the karaoke venues near Wan Chai. There are tons of them and I heard from one of my friend in Hong Kong that they usually are not closed until late night. The night life in these venues is fantastic and with exotic indoor decorations that serves for people’s curiosity. From one of the picture my friend showed me the decoration of the karaoke room in the basement reminded me of time back to ancient Japan and lighting was creepy somehow – on one side of the window, muffed blue light mix with the red light projected on the other side of the room and produced a strange and weird effect.

We asked one of our great StudentUniverse.com customers about her trip to Boston. Check out what she had to say about her experience!

Cheap flights to Boston

How would you describe Boston?

A typical New England, Puritan city. Smaller than NYC, but cleaner and less populated Boston is home to many great places to see, eat, drink and explore. My time in Boston was one of excitement and relaxation, while immersing myself in the quaint charms of this historic mecca.

What did you do in Boston?

While I was in Boston, I was visiting friends who are native Boston-ers. They had a full agenda planned out for my visit which included the campuses of Boston University and Northeastern University. These campuses were the hubs of student activity, even in the middle of the summer there were tons of students milling around preparing for fall classes, and enjoying all that the city had to offer.

I also went sailing in the harbor, departing from Rowes Wharf. Sailing in the Boston Harbor provided the best views of the city that you could ask for. I would definitely say that the view of the city skyline from the boat in the middle of the harbor was unparalleled. Rowes Wharf is a beautiful harbor that has live music, a fabulous restaurant where we had lunch right on the harbor and many cool stores and things to see. I would rate this as a must see in Boston! The huge yachts, beautiful private apartments and condos, galleries and stores make this a place for people of all ages.

I was also lucky enough to visit and have enjoyed a few brews at the Sam Adams brewery, which is a must see for all over 21 college kids. The unique atmosphere and pride behind this infamous brew really encompassed the flavors of the Boston culture.

What a must see in Boston?

While in Boston I would definitely recommend scalping some cheap tickets, which will tend to be the bleacher seats, to go see a Boston Red Sox game. This in itself is a great experience and encompasses all of what you would ever need to know, understand or ever want to experience of New England sports culture. The fans in Boston are unparalleled to any other team, or region of the world. After having some drinks at the Fenway Park neighboring bars, one can definitely come away with the experience of a lifetime and the knowledge of why the term “Red Sox nation” is an understatement for the existence of this sub culture within the world of professional sports.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

The most unusual thing that I saw while in Boston was a few performing artists near South Station who blew my mind with their musical and dance routines. It was unusual but simultaneously special to see self expression rising from what is traditionally such a conservative puritan city.

What sucked?

The only thing that sucked was the traffic getting out of the airport. It took forever and was so confusing. Apparently Boston city has yet to post clear and efficient traffic directing signs to enter or exit the airport. It was frustrating to say the least that it took so much time getting into the arrivals gate and leaving from the departures gate. For the future, I would suggest that anyone arriving at the airport, simply hop onto the ferry that costs about two dollars and take the ferry from the airport to downtown. It will definitely lighten up the time that you would have had to spend sitting in traffic, and increase the time seeing cool city sites.

Best places to party?

The best places to party in Boston are anywhere there is a sporting event, college kids, or people drinking in general. From my experience in Boston I would recommend trying out if not one, then all of these following venues. All of the bars surrounding the neighborhood of Fenway Park will provide great entertainment, especially during game nights. Regardless of if the Red Sox are playing at home, or away I would recommend hitting up these cool spots for a real taste of Boston sports fans, and some serious drinking to boot. I would also recommend paying a visit to Boylston Street. This street is filled with bars that are very popularly frequented by students of both Boston University and Northeastern University. Also bars in Fanuel Hall will provide an awesome way to experience downtown Boston. I would particularly recommend a place on the water called Tias that has a great happy hour. It is one of the only bars in Boston that provides water front drinking at moderate prices. Definitely a must go!

What did you do in San Diego?

While in San Diego, a Thursday to Sunday trip this August, I combined the perfect mix of sightseeing, partying, and relaxing. My flight didn’t arrive from little Rhode Island until the around 10PM. My friend Tim who had an internship in San Diego all summer picked me up from the airport with a welcoming hug and said “man up Kate, we’re going OUT !” Clearly it didn’t take much for me to say “alright San Diego, show me what you’ve got”. We went over to a friend’s place in Pacific Beach then into the city, a quick walk away (especially in the perfect weather). We went to Pacific Beach Bar and Grill, which combines out door laid back seating in the front, a boisterous bar in the middle, and a multileveled dance floor and dj in the back. What else could you ask for?

Friday was all sightseeing. We also went to a famous hotel in Coronado a quick drive “down the five”, San Diego’s highway. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and called for a quick change into something fancy. There we shared a bottle of wine and an appetizer at the bar which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It was breathtaking. After a few hours of what we knew our parents wanted us to do, it was time to go back out in downtown. We had so much fun at the bar the previous night we had to go again.

On Saturday we forced ourselves to wake up, hurting a bit from the night before, to make sure we got in some beach time. There are some gorgeous beaches in Rhode Island but nothing compares to Pacific Beach. The sand is perfect and stretches so far before you get to the water. Minus some seaweed the water was perfect. The waves crash far out, and it was exactly like the California beach in the movies.
That night we heard about a music fest called Street Scene in downtown. It was a blast and I got to see MIA, again after ending up in Pacific Beach at a bar/club called Typhoon. Sunday we got invited to a pool party in some young party complex. Multiple pools, Jacuzzis and jello shots kept us more than entertained until making our way back to the airport.

What’s a must see in San Diego?

A must see is the Sunset Cliffs. The waves crash all around the rocks which you can climb on.

Most unusual thing you saw or did?

The most unusual thing I did was drunkenly thinking that a hot dog wrapped in bacon at the music fest was a good idea to eat. Never again.

What sucked?

Having to leave . And it seemed like parking was really scarce.

Favorite thing in San Diego?

Favorite thing was the concert we went to. Multiple stages with all different types of music, a beer garden, and hundreds of twenty some things jumping around to the music.

Craziest thing that you saw or did?

Partying before my 10:30 flight, but I made it – so that’s all that counts.

What was the culture of the city like?

The culture is a laid back, accepting and excited for life.

Best places to party?

Pacific Beach Bar and Grill and Typhoon were the best places to party.
