Canberra
Many don’t know that the capital of Australia is in fact not Sydney, but Canberra. Surrounded by the state of New South Wales with a little over 300,000 people this smaller city has a lot to offer. When Canberra was established it was to serve the purpose of the capital of the federation to put an end to the disputes of power between Melbourne and Sydney. Many people thought it was a waste of money and sheep pastures. How wrong they were. Canberra is home to Government officials, businessmen, locals, and college students who come just to study for a few years. Some people here hold the most power and money of anyone in the country, but don’t let that intimidate you. These are also some of the nicest and most helpful people you can find.
